PGW Calls for Local Businesses to Join Bidding Process
New online procurement system makes it easier for area vendors to do business with PGW
PHILADELPHIA (August 6, 2020) - Area businesses facing challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic could discover new or existing opportunities by registering in Philadelphia Gas Works’ (PGW) electronic bidding process. Through PGW’s new Procureware system, local businesses will find a simple and easy way to match their services to PGW’s contracting notices.
“PGW is always looking for partners to work alongside us in our mission to provide safe, reliable natural gas service to residents and businesses,” said Erica Patterson, Director, Contracts Management & Supplier Diversity at PGW. “As the current health crisis continues to impact the City, we want local businesses to be aware that PGW does have prospects available and we encourage them to participate in our vendor network.”
Current PGW vendors and potential suppliers can visit pgw.procureware.com/home to create a new user profile to access the procurement system to view PGW’s RFP (Request for Proposals), RFI (Request for Information) and RFQ (Request for Quotations) postings. The bidding portal is accessible through any web browser, platform or operating system. Vendors can also choose automated email communications for bid opportunities.
PGW encourages the growth of companies with certification as Minority, Women, Veteran, and Disabled-owned Business Enterprises. In addition to the opportunities PGW’s bidding system offers the City’s business community, the paperless procurement system also furthers the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
