PGW EnergySense grant supports completion of 55 energy-efficient apartments at JBJ Soul Homes
(Philadelphia, Pa. – July 2, 2014) – Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) presented a $61,260 EnergySense Efficient Construction grant check to Project HOME in June for energy efficient upgrades at its JBJ Soul Homes building. JBJ Soul Homes is a 55-unit supportive, permanent residence for the homeless. The new apartments include energy-efficient natural gas furnaces and hot water heaters, as well as low-flow faucet aerators and shower heads that help to provide residents a basic need – and comfort – that may have been otherwise unobtainable.

Christopher Abruzzo, introduced its new fleet of natural gas powered sedans, today. At the event, PGW was joined by energy and fleet operations experts, customers and leaders in the drive to develop Philadelphia’s Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) market.
(Philadelphia, Pa. – June 2, 2014) – Philadelphia Gas Works’ (PGW) today announced that this quarter’s natural gas rate will increase from $1.47 per hundred cubic feet (Ccf) to $1.51 per Ccf for residential customers. The upward adjustment also applies to commercial, industrial and municipal customers. The new rate reflects what PGW pays for the gas.
