PGW Gas Choice
Pennsylvania’s Gas Choice program allows natural gas providers to render natural gas supply services to PGW’s customers. The program offers suppliers the option of participating in a rate ready purchase of receivables (Por) consolidated billing program for Gs Residential customers and Gs Commercial and Industrial customers with annual usage of 5,000 Mcf or less. PGW also offers dual billing and interruptible transportation options for natural gas suppliers. These services, and details on the Por discount rates, supplier requirements, and procedures are described in detail in the PGW Gas Supplier Tariff available at PGW Tariffs and Supplements.
Participating in Gas Choice
Natural gas suppliers must be licensed to operate in PGW’s service territory by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) to participate in PGW’s Gas Choice program. Information on becoming licensed is available on the PUC’s website here. PGW’s applications to participate in the choice program are below:
PGW utilizes Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to communicate with natural gas suppliers operating in its service territory. Suppliers must become PGW EDI certified before they can begin serving PGW’s customers. Suppliers whose applications are approved will be contacted by PGW’s Customer Programs department about the EDI certification and supplier onboarding process.
