PGW’s Pipeline Improvement: Around the City, Around the Clock

If you live, work or play in Philly, chances are you've seen PGW's crews hard at work around the city, around the clock.
So what are we doing out there in our hard hats and blue jumpsuits? Glad you asked!
Philadelphia, as you might have noticed, is constantly growing. That means our crews at PGW have a lot to keep up with, maintaining and expanding our pipeline network provide safe, reliable service to new neighborhood developments and new businesses within the City of Brotherly Love.
We know that a big part of growing involves maintaining a solid foundation. So annually we manage our pipeline improvement initiative aimed at maintaining PGW’s infrastructure throughout our city and keeping our standards as high as possible.
In the last year alone, PGW replaced more than 18 miles of cast iron gas mains while managing the safe, uninterrupted delivery of natural gas to our approximately 500,000 customers. At the same time, we continue to perform the same routine maintenance we have always provided, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
But it gets better.These efforts have led to an evolution of our online presence and features. To help our customers map our upcoming projects, we launched an interactive online map that shows our scheduled work sites so you can see if we're coming to your neck of the woods. Each day visitors can learn about work in Philly that might affect them using this convenient, interactive feature.
