PGW WILL CLOSE IN OBSERVANCE OF CHRISTMAS
Posted on: Dec 22, 2021PHILADELPHIA (December 22, 2021) – Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) offices will be closed beginning at noon on Thursday, December 23, 2021, through December 25 in observance of Christmas. PGW’s 24-hour Emergency Hotline will remain open for emergency calls. All gas leaks or gas-related emergencies should be immediately reported by calling 215-235-1212.
PGW offices will resume regular business hours on Monday, December 27, 2021.
Customers who need to access account information or pay their bill can log into their PGW MyAccount or make cash payments in person at hundreds of local retailers, including CVS, Dollar General, Family Dollar, and 7-Eleven. For information, visit pgworks.com/customer-care/your-home/ways-to-pay.
The safety of PGW’s customers, employees, and the City’s residents is always a top priority, particularly during the holiday season. If you smell gas, call 215-235-1212. Keep the holidays joyous, festive, and safe with these other important safety tips:
- Place Christmas trees at least three feet away from fireplaces, radiators, and other heat sources, and do not block doorways.
- Check all holiday light cords to ensure they aren’t frayed or broken. Don’t string more than three strands of lights together per extension cord.
- Place candles where they cannot be knocked down or blown over and out of reach of children.
- Never leave candles or fireplaces burning unattended.
- Wash hands frequently when handling food.
- If traveling by car during the holidays, prepare for winter and have an emergency kit on-hand.
- COVID-19 infections are still occurring across the nation. Be sure to review CDC guidelines to keep your family and friends healthy and safe.
