PGW Minority Enterprise Development Week Event Aims to Strengthen Supplier Diversity in Philadelphia
Posted on: Oct 11, 2022PHILADELPHIA, PA (OCTOBER 11, 2022) — Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) Supply Chain professionals hosted more than 80 diverse business leaders and vendors at a reception during Philadelphia’s Minority Development Enterprise Week (MED Week).
Under the theme “Strengthening Supplier Diversity for Tomorrow,” the event at SouthSide Events & Catering -South Restaurant & Jazz Club offered minority-owned enterprises an occasion to connect, engage, and build community relationships and discuss procurement prospects with PGW, Women’s Business Enterprise Council – East (WBEC-East), Women of Color Committee, and other local businesses.
“MED Week is a time that PGW and other partners come together for one purpose: supporting and growing small businesses,” said Dr. Erica Patterson, PGW’s Director, Contracts Management & Supplier Diversity. “PGW strongly supports supplier diversity and inclusion to ensure that these enterprises have opportunity and representation in the City and region’s economic growth.”
