PGW Helps Prepare Local Students for the Classroom
Posted on: Sep 12, 2014
This week, Philadelphia students returned to the classroom for another school year. The young people of Philadelphia are this city’s future and we wish them all the best. A vibrant city requires great minds, so no matter how much students hate waking up early for school or studying all night for those tests and exams, we all know that a good education is key. We encourage everyone to support Philadelphia’s youth this year, in whichever way you can because every little bit counts.
As part of our commitment, just last week PGW was able to deliver new backpacks and school supplies to homeless youth at The Salvation Army Red Shield Family Residence (715 North Broad St., Phila., PA 19123). Supplies were donated by PGW employees as part of an internal PGW campaign to support children and education in Philadelphia. Youth from the Red Shield Family Residence were on hand to meet with PGW employees and accept donated supplies, including backpacks, folders, pens and pencils, and share their excitement for the new school year.
PGW wishes everyone a great school year – Welcome back!
