A Simple Solution To Winter Heating Bills
Posted on: Nov 06, 2013The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) opened on Monday, November 2, 2015, for Philadelphia families. What does that mean for our customers?
It means home heating grants of up to $1,000 for the 1 in 3 PGW customers who qualify. It means a simple solution (for renters and homeowners) to winter heating bills. It means not having to sacrifice on other necessities just to keep your family warm.
Remember, grants are limited. So, we encourage our customers to apply now. And, we make it easy to do just that. To get a LIHEAP application for yourself or someone you know (a neighbor, friend, family member):
- Visit your nearest PGW Customer Service Center
- Call 215-235-1000 to have an application mailed
- Text FAST to 75308*
- Print an application directly from our website
- Apply online at www.compass.state.pa.us
And, if you need help completing your LIHEAP application, we can help with that too. Stop in to one of our six Customer Service Centers around the City for one-on-one assistance (remember to bring 30 days proof of income).
LIHEAP grants can be applied directly to your PGW bill by following these simple steps:
- Write PGW and your PGW account number in Section 4 of the LIHEAP application
- Check Natural Gas in Section 6
- Include proof of your household income
